The George J. Record School Foundation is an Ohio corporation not for profit founded under authority of a decree by the Ashtabula County Probate Court.

In accordance with it’s mission, for over 50 years the Foundation has been making grants to very good students from Ashtabula County, Ohio, attending private, non-state supported, accredited colleges and universities affiliated with a religion of a protestant denomination. Grants are confined to residents of Ashtabula County, Ohio.

Each year the Foundation accepts applications from high school seniors and college students who wish to be considered for a grant. The deadline for submission of an application is typically May 20. Grants are renewable provided the recipient complies with Foundation requirements. Grants are for tuition and fees, and not for room and board or other living expenses.

Each year after reviewing pertinent financial matters, the Trustees determine the total amount of grants the Foundation will make for the next academic year, as well as the size of the individual grants.

In making grants, Foundation guidelines set forth a number of criteria for consideration. To an extent there is a preference for applicants from Conneaut, Ohio and Geneva, Ohio; then to the rest of Ashtabula County, Ohio. Grants are paid directly to the college or university. The recipient must take 6 semester hours or 9 quarter hours of religion courses at his or her college or university over his or her 4 years.
